Bulletin Wireless, a developer and global supplier to wireless Internet products has teamed with primate Systems Inc, a Chicago based wireless software developer. The partnership has been formed to develop and market new messaging software that allows users of Palm™ (NASDAQ:PALM) or Handspring™ (NASDAQ:HAND) handheld computers to compose emails, forward them via infra-red technology to a wireless phone and then send them to any email user worldwide over existing wireless networks. By transmitting and receiving the emails over the SMS (Short message Service) networks, the software essentially gives Palm™ OS-based devices extended wireless capabilities.

Primate Systems specializes in software solutions that allow Palm™ OS-based users to send and receive text (SMS) messages directly from their mobile phones. The solution developed by Bulletin Wireless and Primate Systems simplifies the process for end users. With Bulletin Wireless PDA Messenger there is no need to enter recipient email addresses or messages on the mobile phone keypad – an often tricky and time consuming task. The solution allows recipients to filter their messages choosing which ones they will receive on their Palm™ device.

The software, branded Bulletin PDA Messenger is being marketed initially to Vodafone’s UK subscribers. This solution is now also available to customers and telecommunications companies worldwide through Bulletin Wireless.
