David N. Macrae
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board
Dave Macrae joined the Company in March of 2001 as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. Prior to joining the Company, Dave was CEO & President of Discreet Logic, a company he grew and helped take public on NASDAQ in 1995. He has also worked for Microsoft and other technology companies in an extensive career leading the successful development and deployment of new technologies in the IT and telecommunications sector. Dave was vice president of worldwide field operations for Softimage, a company that went public and was subsequently sold to Microsoft.
Bruce Herbert
President and Chief Operating Officer
Bruce Herbert joined Bulletin.net Inc in March 2001. In addition to having an in-depth knowledge of the mobile messaging market, Bruce has extensive experience of developing new business opportunities in the international high-tech sector. Prior to joining the company, Bruce was the General Manager for Star Micronics NZ Ltd, an IT peripheral distribution company for Agfa, Lexmark, Acer and Star Micronics products. He has over 15 years experience directly in the IT industry covering vendor distribution, retail, corporate and government sales. His career roles have included responsibility for overall commercial and operational strategic direction and programs, vendor negotiations and sales development for global and national accounts. Bruce also has a BSc in Finance and Management from Edinburgh University.
Rob Munro
Vice President Engineering
Rob Munro is the Vice President for Engineering at Bulletin.net and leads the research and development efforts within the company. Rob takes strategic leadership on the architecture and technology for Bulletin’s mobile messaging products and services. Responsibilities therefore include development of enhanced performance features for existing products and also for the creation of new breakthrough messaging products for Bulletin’s customers. He brings more than 18 years of IT experience to the Bulletin.net engineering group, from roles in software engineering, software development management and software security. Rob is also the inventor of Bulletin.net’s ‘mTag’ patented technology. Previously Rob held roles at Symantec Corp, Intel Corp, and BellSouth New Zealand.
Anthony Kelly
VP Marketing & North America Sales
Anthony has breadth of experience in developing B2B and Consumer businesses globally through marketing, product, brand and commercial development. Prior to joining Bulletin.net Inc in June 2008, Anthony was Vice-President responsible for brand marketing at Carl Zeiss Vision Inc, a leading company in the optical market worldwide. In this position he led a series of high growth initiatives involving new innovation category creation, bringing to market disruptive new products and building alliances with major corporations and brands including DuPont, Nike and PPG. Earlier global strategic and operational marketing positions with Pilkington Plc and Sola Inc involved developing and implementing growth strategies in high-technology and multi-channel markets. Anthony also holds a Law Degree from The University of Liverpool.
Matthew Pearch
Vice President EMEA
Matthew heads-up the EMEA region for Bulletin.net, which he joined in April 2008 to build on the company’s longstanding European client base. He brings with him extensive international management and telecommunications industry experience. Most recently he was a senior executive at the mobile aggregator mBlox, delivering consistent major revenue and profit growth over a five year period. Immediately prior to that his responsibilities at Compuware included managing multi-million dollar revenue software categories and building and leading international commercial teams. Earlier positions at Mars and Lucas add to Matthew’s experience of championing the customer’s cause and ensuring they get the best products, services and value for their organization.
Steven Ellis
Director Worldwide Engineering
Steven Ellis manages Bulletin's global messaging infrastructure, and leads the support and network operations groups within the company. Steven drives our infrastructure architecture, and draws on his industry experience to shape Bulletin's customer support and operational management processes. He has over 18 years industry experience with major corporates in the UK, Europe, US and New Zealand, including Vodafone, Air New Zealand, Apple, Motorola, Reuters, BBC and IBM, and a degree in Maths/Computer Science from the University of York. Steven is also contributor within the Open Source community and has been an invited speaker at O’Reilly’s OSCON, Linux World, Linux.conf.au and the Open Source Developers Conference.
